Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update:

To manage the impact of Covid-19 in Leeds and ensure the safety and wellbeing of our audiences and all Leeds City Council staff, we must continue to stay at home as much as possible in order to control the virus and save lives.

The majority of our events until the end of July have either been cancelled or postponed to a later date. These include the AJ Bell World Triathlon Leeds, the Leeds Food & Drink Festival, 80s Classical, Club Classical Anthems, Raiders Of The Lost Ark In Concert, One Night Under The Stars, Salute to Reggae, Will Young & James Morrison, The Popworld Festival, the Brutus Gold's Love Train and the Leeds Ska & Mod Festival. All other scheduled events are currently being reviewed on a weekly basis and we will keep you informed of any changes and their implications as soon as we can. In the meantime we will continue to develop our online content and look forward to engaging with as many people as possible through our social media channels.

If you have bought tickets to any of our events, a member of our Box Office team will be in touch with you shortly. If you have any queries please contact boxoffice@leeds.gov.uk and allow our team to either respond via email or call you back. If that’s not possible, please call the team on 0113 376 0318 (Mon-Fri between 10am and 5pm). Please be prepared for a short wait as our Box Office team are now working remotely. Voicemail messages will be collected on a regular basis and someone will get back to you at the earliest opportunity. Please be assured that every ticket holder will be contacted either by email, telephone or post. We won’t forget you.

Our sincere thanks for your understanding and continued support during these difficult times.

Keep safe & well.

With kind regards

Leeds Christkindelmarkt 2018 - Traditional German Christmas Market

Leeds Christkindelmarkt 2018 - Traditional German Christmas Market

On Friday 9 November, the annual Christkindelmarkt German Christmas Market will open its doors, transforming Millennium Square once again into a festive wonderland. The family-friendly market will be boasting over 40 traditionally decorated wooden chalet stalls featuring handcrafted toys, jewellery, festive decorations and authentic German delicacies, along with the ever-popular Christmas Carousel and other themed children’s rides.

A visit to the Alp Chalet Bavarian styled eatery, the Kuh Stall and the Ski Hutte bar also provides a cosy retreat for visitors offering a delicious choice of traditional German food and drink and authentic evening entertainment.

Every Saturday and Sunday mornings from 24 November until 22 December, children and families will have the opportunity to join Santa for breakfast in the Alp Chalet. Upon arrival guests will be greeted and escorted to their tables by Santa's little helpers and enjoy a buffet style breakfast before Father Christmas pays a special visit to each table and presents a gift to the children.

A weekly children’s show will also take place each Sunday morning on the market square stage with face painting, balloon modelling, sing-alongs, creative arts and crafts and appearances from winter wonderland princesses and other costumed characters.

The German market will be open daily from 10.30am to 9.30pm Monday to Saturday and 10.30am to 7.30pm on Sundays (6pm on Sat 22 Dec) until Saturday 22 December. In respect of Remembrance Day commemorations, the market will not open until 12pm on Sunday 11 November.
