❄ 3 – A perfect family day out

A trip to Ice Cube makes for the perfect family day out. Start by introducing your little ones to the ice at one of our popular Penguin Clubs which take place every weekend at 10am for parents & children under 9. Warm up with a hot chocolate after your session on the ice before heading to the festive funfair for a double dose of family fun! The youngest will love the Christmas-themed rides and games and the magical trek through the North Pole Funhouse whilst the traditional Golden Gallopers will delight kids of all ages (and all kids at heart!). Finish your day on a high by taking a ride on the spectacularly illuminated Leeds Wheel of Light on Victoria Gardens and dazzle the whole family with breath-taking views of Leeds lit up in Christmas lights.

Surrounded by Leeds Civic Hall, Leeds Art Gallery and the City Museum, Ice Cube @ Christmas is conveniently located in the heart of the city centre and is only a short walk away from the train and bus stations and a 10min drive from the M1/M62, which means you can easily find us after your day of Christmas shopping.

With many street food & drink stalls to choose from and several indoor venues including the Viking-Inspired Thor’s Tipi, the beautifully crafted Christmas Tree bar and the brand-new Ski bar, you’ll be spoilt for choice! Relax and refuel after a day of Christmas shopping with a festive drink in your hand and some delicious food including German Bratwurst Sausages, Yorkshire Pudding Wraps, Canadian Style Poutine, Bread, Churros, Waffles and much more.

Our brand-new alpine-inspired Ski Bar on Millennium Square will feature a 4m-high Ski Bear providing the perfect selfie opportunity. Don’t forget to tag @millsqleeds and @pulse1radio in your pictures!

❄7 – Go for a spin on a vintage carousel

Located on Cookridge Street, the vintage Golden Gallopers carousel has become a firm favourite over the Christmas period. With a story that goes back to the Victorian era, the lovingly restored merry-go-round is open every day (except Christmas and Boxing Day) for kids and adults alike.

❄8 – Enjoy a bird’s eye view of Leeds City Centre

Standing tall in all its lit-up glory on Victoria Gardens, the 110ft Ferris wheel is hard to miss. Get a bird’s eye view of Leeds City Centre lit up in Christmas lights from the iconic Wheel of Light.

❄ 9 – Ice Cube is accessible           

As well as all public ice-skating sessions being fully accessible, a weekly accessible session is also available every Thursday at 10am offering a quieter, safe and fun environment to wheelchair users and other disabled persons. Plus, we offer a free companion ticket for every ice-skating ticket booked via the Essential Companion Scheme. All inside venues are wheelchair friendly and a Disabled Persons Toilets and High Dependency Unit (HDU) / Changing Places Toilet will be available on site, adjacent to the Civic Hall.

It’s the perfect time to start soaking up the Christmas atmosphere and a trip to Ice Cube will help you glide into the festive season in style. Why not combine your day out with a visit to the Cinderella Panto at the Carriageworks Theatre or a trip to the city museum, both located on Millennium Square.
