Access To The Square
Millennium Square can be accessed from several surrounding streets, including Portland Gate, Portland Crescent, Cookridge Street, Rossington Street, Great George Street and Calverley Street. All access points offer level or gently sloped routes.
The square follows the natural gradient of the area, sloping slightly from north to south. Please note that entrance and exit arrangements may vary depending on the event.
By Train
Leeds Train Station is around a 10-minute walk from Millennium Square, with regular services connecting Leeds to cities across the UK.
From the station, exit onto City Square, follow signs towards The Headrow and continue uphill towards Millennium Square.
By Bus
Leeds Bus Station is around a 15‑minute walk from Millennium Square. The city centre is well served by frequent bus routes from across the region, with nearby stops on The Headrow just a short distance from the square.
By Bike
We are located just off Leeds city centre’s signed cycle route, with various options for cycle parking available nearby including:
- Outside Leeds Central Library
- Great George Street
- Rossington Street
By Car
Due to ongoing roadworks, the drop-off point on Great George Street (LS1 3DW) may be inaccessible at times. We recommend using the loading bay on Calverley Street or arranging drop-off near Leeds City Museum instead.
While we encourage visitors to travel by public transport wherever possible, we understand this isn’t always practical. If you’re travelling with others, please consider car sharing to help reduce environmental impact.
There are several parking options available nearby, including on-street parking and secure car parks:
- Woodhouse Lane Multi-Storey Car Park – Open 24 hours, 7 days a week. Located opposite Leeds Beckett University, with access from the inner ring road.
- The Rose Bowl (pay and display, short stay) – Located off Portland Crescent near Leeds Civic Hall. Open daily.
- The Light Multi-Storey Car Park (long stay) – Open 24 hours, 7 days a week. Access via Dudley Way off Great George Street.
- St John’s Shopping Centre Multi-Storey Car Park (long stay) – Open 24 hours, 7 days a week. Located off Merrion Street.

The nearest blue badge parking is on Cookridge Street. Other nearby blue badge parking is located on Rossington Street, Alexander Street, Calverley Street and St. Anne Street.
Woodhouse Lane Multi-Storey Car Park also provides limited designated accessible parking on Levels 1 and 7 which is free for blue badge holders.
