Behold - Akeelah Bertram (UK)
Carriageworks Theatre, Millennium Square LS2 3AD
IMMERSIVE | VOCAL | SOUNDSCAPE
"Three hundred children from six Leeds schools each gave a shape and a phrase — in whichever language feels most like home to them. At Carriageworks, those contributions gather into a single field of light, moved by the children's own voices. Step into fog, surround sound and drifting light. Meditative, ethereal and unexpectedly uplifting; the voices both gather and let go. Come and behold; come and be held."

Bird Song (Owls) - Lou Chapelle (UK)
Leeds City Museum, Millennium Square LS2 8BH
INDOOR | TRANQUIL | BUSY
Stand with the majestic European Eagle Owl. Bird Songs (Owls) brings three European Eagle Owls to life as large, glowing holograms resting in birdhouses. Inspired by Leeds’ iconic city emblem, this installation invites you to pose alongside these magnificent creatures, appearing right next to you as if real. Surrounded by a meditative soundscape, pause and reflect in the "home" of these giant guardians. The piece provides a gentle reminder of our shared duty to protect the vital habitats they need to survive and thrive. Vision Zero

Leeds Bridge 1880/2026 (after Grimshaw) - Emily Allchurch (UK)
The Light, The Headrow LS1 8TL
HISTORICAL | QUIET | LED
Commissioned as part of Leeds 400, ‘Leeds Bridge 1880/2026 (after Grimshaw)’ celebrates this historic crossing over the River Aire. Illuminated on the side of an advertising van, Atkinson Grimshaw’s 1880 scene of the Victorian cast iron bridge from Leeds Art Gallery, slowly crossfades back and forth into a digital-photographic collage of the same view today - a process which subtly reveals what has changed in the intervening years and what has stayed the same.

Foster 4 Leeds: Illuminating Childhood
Cookridge Street LS1 8EQ
OUTDOOR | FAMILY | LED
Light installations inspired by drawings by children in care, reflecting the everyday moments they share with their foster families. Celebrating the love, stability and belonging that foster care can provide, the installations also raise awareness of the need for more foster carers in Leeds. Every child deserves a safe, nurturing home where they can create happy memories, build lasting relationships and thrive.
