HYPNOTIC | PSYCHEDELIC | MECHANIC

"Combination of digital technology and electromechanics, FloWeЯ PoWeЯ exploits the principle of persistence of vision. Light becomes matter, forming concentric flashes and infinite spirals, similar to multicoloured flowers. The invisible device only reveals the luminous traces of the LEDs, which eventually melt into the transparency of the night.It was while experimenting with the rings of Saturn around one of our inflatable planets that we created our first luminous rings by combining light and speed. With this installation, we propose a hallucinatory flight without psychotropic drugs. Defending values of love and peace, this contemplative project has no other vocation than to offer digital flowers to the spectators. Attentive to the harmonies of the wind in the blades and playing mechanical rhythms, a digital musical accompaniment increases the PoWeЯ and makes the FloWeЯ dance."

QUEER | SCULPTURE | DANCE 
 
Leeds-based artist K Walker presents I want your hands on me (unrequited). You’re invited into K’s hazy nightclub, where a lone dancer moves through a sculptural installation to a club-inspired sound work. The artwork speaks to K’s experience of queer club settings and the feelings of loneliness that can sometimes accompany more expected feelings of joy, whilst encouraging visitors to consider their own relationship to nightlife. Commissioned by Yorkshire Contemporary and supported by Yorkshire Dance.

DYNAMIC | INTERACTIVE | JOYOUS 
 
Inspired by protecting and healing our environment, reducing waste and creative recycling we use dance and carnival arts to inspire our audience to think about current environmental damage, consider the impact of capitalism and colonialism on our natural world, and see a future we can create together that respects and heals our world.  Our performances take place at the beautiful Hibiscus Rising sculpture by Yinka Shonibare, where we celebrate the rich diversity of Leeds' heritage and present a hopeful future with the Remember Oluwale Charity.
