Light Landmarks Schools project - sponsored by Northern Powergrid

In 2025 we worked with four Leeds primary schools: Armley Park, Little London Academy, Park View and Shakespeare Primary.  We wanted to inspire the next generation of light artists by asking them to design the most imaginative artwork using light, not hampered by practical restrictions.

Guided by artist Gemma Wood, the pupils thought about their most memorable place in Leeds to site their creation.

Community Packs - produced by Yorkshire Contemporary

For those who couldn't get to us, Light Night Leeds came to them!  Children and young people in hospitals or residential care got involved in fun activities through our artist designed activity packs, delivered right to their door.  Designed by artist Rhian Cooke and produced by Yorkshire Contemporary, these packs ensured everyone could get involved.  Follow us online  on Facebook and Instagram to see what they made!
